Fatigue Management for Truck Drivers.
TLIF1007C Apply Fatigue Management Strategies (for drivers)
TLIF6307A Administer the implementation of Fatigue Management Strategies (Managers and Schedulers)

New national road transport Heavy Vehicle Driver Fatigue laws commenced 29 September 08 regarding set revised work and rest limits for heavy vehicle drivers and better management of driver fatigue.  The reform makes all parties in the supply chain legally responsible for preventing driver fatigue.

Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) accreditation offers more flexible hours and retains the ability to work 14 hour shifts.  If your operation requires more flexibility than available under Standard hours or BFM then consider the Advanced Fatigue Management (AFM) option.

Operators will need to be accredited in the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) and comply with six BFM standards covering scheduling and rostering, fitness for duty, fatigue knowledge and awareness, responsibilities, internal review, and records and documentation.

The course provides drivers and operations staff with the skills and knowledge needed to manage personal fatigue effectively in heavy vehicle truck driving and to be compliant with new legislation.

Duration: The course is offered over two 3 hour sessions with “on the job” practice for 2 weeks duration in between the two sessions to practice strategies.

Cost of course: 10 or above in attendance = $250 each
