Certificate 1 in the Road transport would be considered as a general qualification within the transport industry. The qualification would require a person to have spent at least a moderate time within the industry and would require him/her to be proficient in the basic requirements of the work required to complete the job to a minimum satisfaction level.
Certificate 1 in Road transport provides the nucleus and basic provisions for a driver to move on and be proficient to the next level, Certificate 1 also provides the building blocks for company specific requirements for the next two levels.
To gain a successful qualification in Certificate 1 Road Transport a person will have to be competent in 7 Road Transport units or a person can draw 5 units from Road Transport and 2 other units from another relevant endorsed training package. There are 17 units to choose from.
